Barnyard Backpackers Te Anau Hostel

We got a lot of value for our money at Barnyard Backpackers. The room was cozy and had a fine mountain view. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the staff treated us like family.

Stunning view and helpful reception staff. Despite the lack of amenities and minor issues with the room, the location and character of the main building made up for it. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. I had a memorable stay at Barnyard Backpackers.

The views from the hotel were amazing, and the grounds were so well-maintained. The shared kitchen was a huge plus, as it was well-equipped and made meal preparation easy. The quirky and rustic barnyard communal area was a hidden gem, complete with a pool table. My room was warm, spacious, and had its own toilet/shower room. The peaceful country location offered serene views and was just a short drive away from Te Anau town. I highly recommend this hotel for a cozy and enjoyable stay.

Charming stay with fabulous country views. The communal living area was delightfully quirky and had everything we needed, including a fantastic kitchen. The main house and bedrooms had a lovely country atmosphere and the hotel is currently being renovated. While the bedrooms were dated, they were still comfortable enough for our two-night stay. We enjoyed spending time in the main house, playing pool and taking in the beautiful views. The location is a bit outside of town, but it's close to a scenic walking trail. I'll definitely recommend this place for its charm and amazing views.

Wood cabins with farm field and mountain views. 10-minute drive from town with clean communal areas and helpful staff. Large kitchen and comfy beds with ensuite bathrooms. Good value for money.
